MR ROY CURRIE - DEPUTY HEADMASTER

Mr Currie has been at Simba Secondary School for two years now. In that period of time, he has continued the school's trend of academic excellence and has also been instrumental in encouraging the sporting ethos within the school.

Apart from communicating with parents by e-mail regularly, Mr Currie has also encouraged Class Mothers to play a more engaging role in the education of their wards. As a consequcne, a Volunteer Programme has been initiated at the A Level to encourage students to "live beyond the classroom."

Mr Currie enjoys teaching Mathematics when he is not engaged in administrative affairs and he also enjoys coaching youngsters in cricket, which he offers as a weekly activity.

MR SUNDRESH AMMIGAN - ECONOMICS

Mr S Ammigan is a veteran at Simba International School, having been part of the institution for twenty years now. He is well read and enjoys teaching Economics to his students.

In addition to teaching IGCSE and A Level Economics, Mr Ammigan is also involved in administering external examinations like the SAT.

He enjoys walking and has often encouraged students to engage in distance walking as an activity. At a more sedentary level, he enjoys offering chess as an activity and his classroom is often found full of students engaging each other at this mental challenge.

MR TOOLSEE AMMIGAN - FRENCH, TTC, PG Cert in Mass Communication/Journalism, Diploma in French

Mr T Ammigan is well-respected for the diligence and dedication with which he teaches French to the many students who consider it a third language. He has been teaching the subject sine 1973 and has been at Simba since 1996. Prior to his stint at Simba, Mr Ammigan had been attached to the Ministry of Education in Mauritius.

His love for golf is reflected in the pleasure he takes in accompanying students to the Ndola Golf Club an afternoon a week.

MRS VIMLA AMMIGAN - FRENCH, TTC

Mrs Ammigan has been at Simba since January 1996 and has, since then, built an excellent rapport with the students she has taught.

Students enjoy her vivacity and the energy she brings to teaching French. In her time here, Mrs Ammigan has been known to organise some wonderful and memorable farewell parties for the school leavers.

MR JOHN BARRIE - DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

Mr Barrie is a recent addition to the secondary staff room and he has a Certificate in Education, Design Technology and PE.

While he is not in the classroom Mr Barrie enjoys offering Adventure Racing, Waterpolo and DT Club as after-school activities.

Extremely fond of outdoor pursuits, Mr Barrie enjoys carpentry, restoring old vehicles, philately and travel.

MR HONEST CHISHA - GEOGRAPHY, BA. EB, DIP. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

MR H Chisha has been at Simba since September 2003 and enjoys his role as the IGCSE and A Level Geography teacher.

He offers Football, Basketball and Chess as afternoon activities.

MR K CHATURVEDI - MATHEMATICS

Mr Chaturvedi is passionate about the study of Mathematics and, during the course of his lessons, tries to infuse a passion for the subject in his students.

He teaches Mathematics at the IGCSE and A Levels

MR Phillip S G DONGO - PHYSICAL EDUCATION, B.A. Dip Ed (Ind. Arts)

Mr Dongo has been at Simba since January 2006 and has revitalised the spirit of rugby within the school. He is the school's PE Master as well as the House Parent of Tau Hourse (The Hostel).

Students find their PE lessons quite invigorating as they enjoy the exercises, drills and sports that he arranges for them. On two afternoons a week he trains students in Rugby and Hockey.

Simba is lucky to have this gentleman who also highly regarded as the National Coach for Zambia U18 and U21 Zambia Schools and Youth Rugby.

DR BRUCE F ELDER - ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE, BA HONS (OXON) MA (OXON) MA, PhD (LONDON)

Dr Bruce Elder's idiosyncracies have been entertaining secondary school students at Simba for over five years now. Students enjoy the robust appraoch that he brings to the study of English Language and Literature.

Dr Elder is passionate about Golf and can sometimes be found "lining up to putt" in those odd moments of peculiarity. It is little wonder, then, that he offers Golf as an activity for students who are interested in the sport. On a more cerebral level, he offers Drama, Debating and Perspectives on Current Affairs as afternoon activities.

He is also the Careers Advisor, especially for those students interested in applying through the UCAS system.

DR JEREMY DORMAN - HISTORY AND ENGLISH, BA, PhD in Zoology

Dr Dorman has been teaching at Simba since September 2007. Prior to joining Simba, Dr Dorman has taught English as a Foreign Language in Ireland and China. He has also taught A Level Biology in Saudi Arabia and Kenya.

The mild-mannered Dr Dorman enjoys travelling, cooking, and gardening. He is also extremely interested in wildlife, which is why Simba students find it amusing when he stops in the middle of the school gardens to inspect an insect that has caught his fancy.

Dr Dorman takes students once a week to the Ndola SPCA in order to foster a sense of love and respect for animals.

MRS HELENA GODSALL - ACCOUNTING, Diploma in Business Management

Apart from the diploma mentioned above, Mrs Godsall is also a qualified computer technician, an advanced instructor in scuba diving and a senior workplace first aid instructor. She has also earned Certificate IV in Computer Operations and in Training and Assessing.

In addition to teaching IGCSE and A Level Accounting, Mrs Godsall offers First Aid and Hockey as activities. As the school's Prefect Co-ordinator, she offers Leadership Training at Grades 11 and 12. Quite the outdoor person, she accompanies students on schoo trips to national parks and other places of interest.

Mrs Godsall enjoys hiking, camping, cycling, photography and scuba diving.

MR J ISAC - BIOLOGY, MSc, Dip. Higher Education, PGDBM

Mr Isac has been teaching IGCSE and A Level Biology since September 2006.

He is extremely academically oriented and offers extra lessons in Biology two afternoons a week.

MR S JOHN - PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS, MSc, M. Ed.

Mr John has been at Simba for nearly nine years now and in that time has earned the respect of the many students whom he has taught.

During activity time Mr John offers Hockey and Extra Mathematics.

Mr Mathew has been at Simba since 1996 and teaches Mathematics and Physics up to the A Levels.

MRS S MATHEW - CHEMISTRY, BSc, B. Ed.

Mrs Mathew has been a member of the Simba community since 1994.

She offers students the opportunity to do reasonable levels of Community Service.

Mrs Chandraprabha S Puthran is now a veteran of Simba International School having been her since 1991.

She teaches IGCSE Biology.

MR ALISTER RENAUX - BUSINESS STUDIES, MA English Literature

Mr Renaux teaches IGCSE and A Level Business Studies and has been at Simba since September 2005.

One of those eccentirc folk who cannot sit still, Mr Renaux enjoys a diverse range of activities and offers students the opportunity to participate in Public Speaking, Debating, Quizzing and Drama. He also enjoys sport, especially athletics and has accompanied students on the International Youth Award expeditions.

He spends a lot of his personal time pursuing personal hobbies that include reading, writing poetry, travel, photography and website design.
