PRIMARY CLASS TRIPS

Zambia is a country blessed with beautiful flora and fauna. At Simba International School we believe it is imperative to offer children - at a very young age - the opportunity to travel into the Zambian bush and appreciate the natural beauty of the country parks and its wildlife.

As such, students in Grades 5 and 6 are taken on annual trips so that they can grow into young men and women who are appreciative of the natural bounty of our world in a day and age when rampant exploitation of our natural resources seems the status quo.

Chimfunshi - Chimfunshi is one of the conservation success stories of Africa for it is a wildlife orphanage, specifically a rehabilitation centre for chimpanzees. It is situtated in Chingola and Grade 5 students are given an opportunity to visit this wonderful place especially when the noted Primatologist Dr Bodamer is visiting. This is a weekend trip and children enjoy interacting with Dr Bodamer and his students as well as with the many chimps who have been given shelter here.

Treetops - Treetops is situated in the northern parts of Kafue National Park and is an educational centre devoted to the study of wildlife and birdlife. Students of Grade 6 enjoy the amazing sights and sounds of all of Africa's BIG FIVE with the exception of the Rhino.

Nsobe Game Park - Only an hour's drive from Ndola, Nsobe Game Park is a perfect venue for the annual Upper Primary Picnic where students and teachers have a nice and entertaining day trip.
